My favourite section of the grocery store is the discounted area where they sell cheap fruit because it’s “too ripe” (whatever that means). I got 6 avocados for $2!!! Best day. Ripe fruit can sometimes be healthier than when it’s just picked, such as bananas offering more cancer-fighting properties when they become more brown. Avocados tend to become more rich and flavourful the darker they become. Ripe avocados are perfect for this recipe as it brings out a richness to the chocolate.
This recipe is so rich and creamy you would have no idea its raw vegan. I’m obsessed!! Please try it out and enjoy!
Ingredients (makes 3 servings)
- 2 ripe avocados
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup almond milk
- 5 tbsp maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
Directions
- Add all ingnredients to blender and blend on high for 1 minute.
- Garnish with shaved dark chocolate and almond slivers.
